Our team is made up of a small group of volunteers. We may be small, but we're very dedicated and knowledeable about beauty. A big thanks goes out to Nathaniel for the free use of his photography studio to take our new bio photos! I'd like to link to his site because he did a wonderful job, but he wishes to remain relatively anonymous for now and I respect that. But a big thanks is due all the same!

Ellen Forest - General Beauty Advisor & Founder

My name is Ellen. I'm the founder of ellensbeauty.com. I've always been interested in beauty. Growing up in a small town, I didn't always have access to the latest and greatest beauty products. I have no certifications or training, but I've spent my whole life studying different aspects of beauty. I'm hoping to reach more people than I did with my local magazine using this website. My only goal is to help people find answers to their common beauty problems.

Cathy Williamson - General Beauty Advisor

I've recently discovered my passion for beauty. Although somewhat new to the stage, I'm ready to help anyone I can with the knowledge I've gained throughout my years. I can't volunteer here as often as I'd like to, but if any of the other beauty advisors are too busy I'm happy to step in and answer questions. I currently have two beauty certifications and have recently graduated from the school I went to so I do know what I'm doing. But if you have a very specific question regarding your health it might be best for another beauty advisor to step in instead.

Krystal Sholk - Hair Advisor

I've been working with Ellen since almost the very beginning. I have knowledge in many different areas of beauty, but specialize in hair. My mother was a hair stylist. She taught me everything I know. I also know quite a bit about skin, but I prefer to spend my volunteer time answering questions about hair.

Sandy Matthews - General Beauty Advisor

I just recently joined the team here and am a bit nervous about all of this, but I'm very good at what I do. I specialize in a wide variety of beauty topics from the simplest issue all the way up to those horrible beauty conundrums. My true passion is and always will be beauty. I own my own salon and know a lot about different hairstyles and treatments to keep your hair healthy. But in all honesty there isn't one thing about beauty that I don't know about. I wouldn't call myself an expert at any one thing and I suppose I'm somewhat of an authority on all things beauty. As a general beauty advisor, it's my job to step in when no one else is available. And I'm more than happy to help.

Susan Peters - Skin Advisor

I started getting interested in beauty at a very young age. My grandmother taught me different herbal remedies that helped improve your appearance. She always said that beauty came from within, but it didn't hurt to show it on the outside either. And I still believe that to this day. The one thing that can drastically influence your appearance is your skin, so I studied and learned everything I could about keeping your skin looking young and healthy. I don't typically answer questions that aren't related to skin, but I'm fully capable of stepping in and answering general beauty questions if no one else is available.

Barbarah Vanhilson - Cosmetics Advisor

I absolutely love everything related to cosmetics. Growing up I didn't really care about how I looked other than the normal regular maintenace one needs to perform to look presentable. But over time I realized that putting on makeup can be a fun and rewarding experience. It can enhance your natural beauty and give you the confidence you need to get things done in this world. I agreed to spend some of my off time responding to all your questions about cosmetic products. Though I'm not very knowledgable in other subjects, I can help with other beauty matters too. Scott Andersen - Web Designer & Developer

Hey. I'm Scott. I'm the volunteer webmaster of ellensbeauty.com. I know literally nothing about beauty and I won't be answering any beauty questions, but if there's problems with the site, I'm the guy to go to. I also do all updates to the site. Whenever a new question is answered and it's decided that it should go on the site, I code it all up. I can't devote as much time to this as I would like to, but I do what I can to keep the site updated and running smoothly.
